U3-U6 Active Start

These Saturday 9 week programs are specifically geared for boys and girls born in 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015.  All sessions will be hosted at the Bechtel Park outdoor facilities.

Our program aligns with Ontario Soccer’s LTPD Active Start program. The sessions will be lead by Parent volunteers and supported with Skill Instructors under the leadership of the Technical Director.

END OF SEASON FESTIVAL
Waterloo United’s U3 –U10 has almost wrapped up for the year with only a week left to go! To celebrate the involvement of over 1100 children who have been playing in the U3-U6 Active Start, the U7-U8 Fundamentals, and the U9/U10 Learn to Train program, the annual Waterloo United Soccer Festival will be scheduled to take place at Bechtel Park on Saturday, July 21st, 2018. The dates and times are in your Family Calendar in PowerUp. Activities planned for the day include mini soccer games, food services, and sponsor demonstrations. All players will receive a medal to celebrate the season. The end of season festival is an excellent way to round off the season. It’s always a lively event and sure to be great fun.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
U3 – U6 Active Start

OVERVIEW
The objective of the Active Start Program is to get children moving and keep them active.  The physical curriculum involves adults and children in play activities that build basic fundamental movement skills such as: running- jumping- twisting- throwing- catching. The technical requirements are nothing more than encouraging children to enjoy playing with the ball one-on-one with an adult, practicing dribbling, kicking, and shooting.
More information regarding the program curriculum can be found here.

Long-Term Player Development is Canada’s structure for athletic development broadly adopted by youth sports.  Players in the Active Start phase should participate in a variety of activities. Swimming and well-structured gymnastics programs are recommended to enhance the full range of basic movement skills and physical literacy.

TEAMMATE REQUEST
WMSC will make every effort to accommodate placement on a team with ONE other registered player if submitted by the March 15th deadline. All teammate requests must be one-to-one reciprocated requests. Should you have special circumstances or medical conditions that merit special consideration, please provide a note in writing once your registration has been completed. WMSC Teammate Request Policy
